Minimalist chest rig
The new Black Trident SICARIO Micro Chest Rig marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Austrian gear manufacturer. While Black Trident has previously focused primarily on holsters and belts, the company now expands into tactical carry systems. Leading the way is this three-magazine AR15 placard paired with the lightweight SICARIO H-Harness to create a compact micro chest rig. The result is a lightweight setup for demanding range days that provides excellent ventilation in hot weather and can be expanded with additional accessories for professional applications.
The SICARIO harness system
The laser-cut H-harness attaches to the placard via 25 mm side-release buckles connected to the perimeter loops, creating a low-profile carrying solution that adds minimal weight while remaining highly compatible with backpacks. To ensure a secure fit on the body, the rig includes a waist strap that also connects via side-release buckles. The front shoulder straps feature short PALS sections for mounting a tourniquet, radio, PTT, or single-column pouches. Additional laser-cut slots allow shock cord to be routed for quickly securing gloves or a tourniquet. On each side, elastic webbing loops provide routing points for hydration tubes or antennas. The open design with distinctive triangular cutouts promotes excellent ventilation beneath the harness while also supporting efficient cable management. Strap length is adjusted from the sides, and multiple tri-glides securely lock the chosen length in place. While the two male buckles on the upper edge are permanently sewn in, the remaining attachment points can be configured with other 25 mm hardware if desired.
Three magazines within easy reach
The CURV-reinforced platform features three permanently sewn magazine pouches constructed with elastic side panels and CURV-reinforced Cordura laminate fronts. This combination provides consistent retention and an adaptive fit for magazines used in AR15, G95, STG77, and similar weapon systems. The partially elastic construction also keeps the pouches slightly open, allowing one-handed magazine reindexing. For additional retention, the rig includes shock cord with pull tabs, making it suitable for highly dynamic activities and airborne operations. Drain openings in the bottom of the pouches allow water and sand to escape.
Compatible with plate carriers
Without the harness attached, the Micro Rig functions as a placard that can be adapted to most plate carriers using separately available adapter buckles. It utilizes the two permanently sewn 2M side-release buckles and attaches to the plate carrier via the hook backing.
Easy to expand
Thanks to the full hook panel on the rear, the rig can be equipped with a wide range of accessories and inserts. For additional PALS mounting space, the SICARIO Expander Wing can be attached to the sides or bottom. Hook-and-loop compatible radio pouches, IFAKs, tourniquet holders, hanger pouches, and other accessories commonly used with plate carriers can also be integrated with ease.
