The UF Pro P-40 Responder Shirt was developed for professionals who rely on functional clothing even in high temperatures. It combines the mission-focused features of a combat shirt with the ventilation and comfort of a short-sleeve design, creating a versatile solution for duty use, training, range sessions, and outdoor activities. The combination of breathable materials, ergonomic comfort features, and practical functionality helps maintain comfort even when body armour, plate carriers, or extensive equipment are worn for extended periods.
Purpose-Built for Wear Under Load-Bearing Equipment
Unlike conventional T-shirts, the P-40 Responder Shirt was specifically designed for use beneath load-bearing tactical equipment. Integrated air/pac shoulder inserts improve airflow around the shoulders while helping distribute the weight of backpacks, body armour, and plate carriers more evenly. This reduces pressure points and noticeably improves comfort during prolonged wear.
The shirt also features lightweight and air-permeable padding in the hip area. These padded zones improve comfort when wearing duty belts or waist-mounted equipment by reducing pressure and friction around sensitive hip-bone areas. The benefit becomes especially noticeable during long patrols, training exercises, and extended operational tasks.
Material Blend for Mobility and Durability
The hybrid construction combines different materials exactly where their specific properties provide the greatest benefit. High-wear areas are reinforced with proven PolyCo Ripstop fabric consisting of 67% polyester and 33% cotton. This fabric delivers excellent abrasion resistance, durability against mechanical stress, and outstanding breathability.
The torso section is made from a lightweight knitted fabric consisting of 92% polyester and 8% elastane. It provides the flexibility required for unrestricted freedom of movement and comfortably adapts to dynamic movement patterns. The elastic construction also ensures a comfortable fit during physically demanding activities.
Optimised Climate Management in Hot Environments
The materials have been specifically selected for use in warm-weather environments. The breathable torso fabric supports continuous moisture transport and promotes rapid evaporation. This helps minimise heat build-up beneath equipment and contributes to a more comfortable body climate.
The PolyCo Ripstop fabric further enhances comfort through its high breathability and fast-drying performance. Even during intensive physical activity or repeated transitions between active and static phases, comfort remains consistently high.
Practical Features for Daily Operational Use
For carrying smaller pieces of equipment, the P-40 Responder Shirt features two upper arm pockets with covered zipper closures. These provide secure storage while protecting contents from dirt and accidental loss. At the same time, access remains quick and uncomplicated.
The pockets are equipped with loop panels for identification markers, patches, and unit insignia. In addition, integrated pen holders keep writing instruments and similar items secure and readily accessible.
An extra-long front zipper simplifies donning and doffing while allowing quick ventilation adjustment according to weather conditions or activity levels. A protective inner placket prevents direct zipper contact with the skin and further enhances comfort.
The design is complemented by a soft-lined inner collar. This reduces friction around the neck area and ensures lasting comfort, particularly when carrying heavy equipment for extended periods.
